Vivian's Battle Against Cancer

Donation protected
My Auntie Vivian needs your help! She is currently in a fight for her life against cancer, and she could use all the support we can provide her, which is the least we can do for her after everything she has done for us. Here is her story:

My name is Vivian Woo.  I am a widow with two teenagers. I had been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer since December of 2016. Currently, I am battling a relapse of metastasis in the liver.

My children, Kimberly, who is 15 years old and is a sophomore in high school, and Kyle who is 13 years old and is in the 7th grade, had lost their father, Ed, who died of a heart attack in the middle of the night when they were 4 and 2.

Before my diagnose, they were already struggling with emotional stress; they were always either sad, angry, or both. Despite that, Kimberly and Kyle were doing well at school with mostly A's. After my diagnose, Kimberly was able to remain academically strong by shutting down her emotions and becoming less attached to me. Socially, she has a strong group of  friends on the girls basketball team. She has become more independent, managing her own rides to practices and games on the days I didn't feel well. Kyle, unfortunately, is having a tougher time than Kimberly.

On July 27, 2018, I had an RFA (ablation) procedure on 2 tumors that suddenly appeared after 9 months of remission.  In less than 3 months, it had grown from 8mm to 24mm, right under my oncologist's watch! This prompted me to search for other methods of healing. In August, I started seeing an integrative doctor who practices both naturopathic and conventional treatments. My insurance covers most of the conventional treatments, but nothing on naturopathic treatments.  As you know it is very expensive! I must do anything and everything within my capabilities, including reaching out to the community for financial support, to get the care and treatments that I need while I am still capable!   If you are able to help, my family and I thank you and appreciate your support and generosity.

I am preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.  I know that my family will step in and help raise my kids if I am gone, but that is not what I want for them.  My kids need their mother. I am going to fight to be here for as long as I am able, and with your help I will get that chance.

My sincere thanks,

Vivian Woo
