Hope Starts with a Meal: Feed Ukrainian orphans

Tax deductible
In partnership with Good Neighbours Canada, Fight for Freedom is a Romanian organization who has been working to protect Ukrainian orphans since the beginning of the war. Now, their funds are running low, and they require vital funding to continue to be able to feed the children they support.

These Ukrainian children had been through enough. Living in orphanages throughout Ukraine, and just beginning to recover from the pandemic, the children were swiftly removed from Ukraine at the onset of the war on the government's advice to evacuate children, who are too often targeted by invading troops. The children from the orphanages were moved across the Romanian border, to a country where they knew no-one and couldn't speak the language. Fight for Freedom is supporting their safe relocation, but they urgently require funding to continue to support their growing caseload of children who need their help.

The support orphanages provide shelter and meals for children, provide places where children can play and learn in peace, and mental care after all the children have been through. Our first priority is to provide nutritious and warm meals.

Join us in donating whatever you can to keep these kids safe, warm and fed. We are aiming to raise $30,000, which is enough to keep the orphanages' full operations running for one month.
If you can give,
$45, you will feed 10 children for a day.
$100, you will fully support 10 children for a day. (Food, staff, utilities, operations, activities)
$300, you will fully support one child for an entire month.

In return,
Donors of $45 can receive a a postcard in the mail from a child you have supported (Canada only).
Donors of $100 can receive a a postcard from a child you have supported (Canada only), a tailored email reporting on project progress so far.
Donors of $300 can receive a postcard from a child you have supported (Canada only), a report on progress so far and access to our project newsletter for ongoing updates on the orphans, and a video message from the Chair of Fight for Freedom.
We will be in touch with donors to request addresses for us to provide these rewards - please keep an eye on your messages from GoFundMe!

Join us today in feeding the children of Ukraine.

About Good Neighbours Canada: Good Neighbours is an international non-profit that has actively engaged in sustainable humanitarian development and emergency relief in 47 countries since 1991. The organization works in close cooperation with local and United Nations partners, protecting children's rights, finding solutions to basic human needs and promoting self-sufficiency.

About the fundraising plan: Good Neighbours Canada will remit funds to our international partner Good Neighbours Romania, who is working in collaboration with Fight for Freedom on this project. The funds shall be spent as follows:
Food $13,500
Utilities (cooking, labour, activities) $8,000
Operations $8,500
(Full program $30,000)
Since this will remain an ongoing need, if we raise more money than our initial goal of $30,000, we will upscale the project to support the orphanages for longer than one month.
