About Visual Black Justice

Visual Black Justice is a Minneapolis-based, Black women led organization that seeks to accelerate the fight for sustained foundational racial justice. We work to find creative ways to amplify Black voices, heal community trauma, close the economic wealth gap, and build solution-focused initiatives - all to enable an equitable and just future for us all. We have worked tirelessly, since the murder of George Floyd,  to support our community and bridge the gap where the government and our elected officials have failed. Through culturally representative gift drives, winter gear collections, partnerships with other organizations, and impactful and creative protests, VBJ has had a consistent presence in and impact on the Twin Cities community and we don't plan to stop.

But, in order to advance our mission and make an even bigger impact, Visual Black Justice is seeking your support. At the core of Visual Black Justice is 6 Pillars.

6 Pillars of Visual Black Justice

1. Black Lives Matter, period.

2. Defund the Police and re-invest in community resources

3. Bridge the Economic Wealth Gap by amplifying and investing in Black owned business to encourage wealth redistribution.

4. Boots on the Ground by show up and stand up against injustice

5. Proactive Community Support to ensure communities have sustainable access to necessary resources

6. Amplify Black Women by allowing them to lead, and listening to, collaborating with, paying, and supporting them

We have big plans to drive each and every single one of our pillars but need your support. We are seeking $10K/pillar that will enable us to accelerate VBJ’s mission and drive concrete change in our community. Please see below for what the funding would go towards.

What will the funding be used for?

1. $10K for Black Lives Matter – to pay for office space! In order to organize, plan, coordinate donations, and execute large scale events, a central location where we can bring our team together is critical.

2. $10K for Defund the Police – to pay Black lawyers and attorneys to consult on legislation proposals and sit on our Visual Black Justice’s non-profit board to help guide and enable our mission.

3. $10K for Bridge the Economic Wealth Gap – to host large-scale events that will elevate and amplify Black-Owned businesses in the Twin Cities to accelerate the process of wealth redistribution.

4. $10K for Boots on the Ground – to cover the fees necessary to execute creative and high-impact protests, marches, and rallies to drive education and awareness of topics that directly impact marginalized communities such as police brutality, racism, and economic, health and educational disparities.

5. $10K for Proactive Community Support – to enable VBJ to organize and distribute food, gear, and other necessities to community members in need in a sustainable and consistent way.

6. $10K to Amplify Black Women – to provide grants to Black women, pay Black women for their services, and partner with Black-women led organizations on projects and events that will drive our goal of racial equality.

Visual Black Justice is more than just an organization, we are a family trying to do our part to drive change, fight for justice, support our community, and create a better world for future generations and we would be endlessly grateful for your support.
