<div>El colectivo de justicia del lenguaje de Virginia se fundó en enero del 2023. Somos un equipo de 8 intérpretes multiculturales, multirraciales y multilingües en todo Virginia, comprometidos no solo a brindar servicios de interpretación y traducción, sino a simultáneamente construir poder, apoyando espacios bilingües y multilingües donde nuestras comunidades diversas pueden conectarse y estar en comunidad entre sí en nuestro camino hacia la justicia y la liberación colectiva.

<div>Nuestro colectivo está profundamente comprometido a brindar servicios de interpretación, traducción y otros servicios de justicia lingüística con modelos de compensación que sean lo más equitativos posible, y para hacerlo hemos adoptado un modelo de compensación con tarifas basadas en ingresos con nuestros colaboradores, organizaciones, grupos de base y miembros de la comunidad.

<div>Para las personas y/o grupos de base con bajos ingresos, ofrecemos tarifas muy bajas, y para las personas que tienen dificultades financieras, brindamos servicios gratuitos siempre que podemos. Hemos estado brindando estas tarifas bajas y servicios gratuitos desde que nos fundamos. La necesidad de estas tarifas bajas y servicios gratuitos se ha vuelto más visible para nuestro equipo debido a un aumento en las solicitudes de estos servicios.

<div>VALJC was founded in January 2023. We are a team of 8 multicultural, multiracial and multilingual interpreters across Virginia committed not only to providing interpretation and translation services, but to simultaneously build power by supporting bilingual and multilingual spaces where our diverse communities can connect and be in community with one another on our journeys to justice and collective liberation.

<div>Our collective is deeply invested in providing interpretation, translation and other language Justice services with compensation models that are equitable as much as possible, and to do so we have adopted a sliding scale compensation model with our partners, organizations, grassroots groups and community members.

<div>For people and/or grassroots groups with low income we provide very low rates, and for people who struggle financially we provide pro bono services whenever we can. We have been providing these low rates and pro bono services since we were founded. The need for these low rates and pro bono services has become more visible to our team due to an increase in requests for these services.

<div>To be able to continue providing these services we are asking for donations so that we can collectively create and support spaces that foster language justice values in our diverse and multilingual communities in Virginia.
