A Violin for Zen

Donation protected
Zen Spencer-Harris is a 9th grader majoring in violin at the Baltimore School for the Arts.  He has been playing violin for 9 years, and is on the cusp of becoming a fine musician.  It has been requested by his violin teacher that he upgrade his instrument.  For an advancing student such as Zen, this means purchasing a violin and bow that will total $3000-5000 dollars!   For both the violin and the bow, the age of the instrument, type and age of wood used for the body parts, the type of varnish and most importantly, the shop that makes a violin can drive the cost of an instrument literally to hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Being that Zen is from a family of modest means, his family is looking to the community to help defer the cost of outfitting Zen with an instrument that will propel him towards mastery.    Anyone who contributes $10 or more will receive a thank you postcard signed by Zen...anyone who contributes $25 or more will receive a postcard and a DVD of his first high school recital, which will take place in December of this year.  Thank you for contributing in advance!
