Violet's Family Fundraiser

Thank you for visiting Violet's family fundraising page. Violet began spiking several high fevers in a short time span that were not accompanied with other traditional illness symptoms. She was taken to a pediatric urgent care and referred for imaging. The week of May 31, 2021 Violet was diagnosed with Stage 4 Intermediate Hepatoblastoma (liver cancer) at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital. The cancerous tumor was 13cm at diagnosis and was indistinguishable from her liver. She began chemotherapy the week of June 7, 2021. Please see the updates for information about Violet's treatment progression. 

Words do not adequately describe the shock, grief, and uncertainty her family is facing. The goal of this fundraiser is to surround Violet's family with any resources they may need at any time. Not only does this type of aggressive cancer require immediate treatment, but Violet is very young: her first birthday was June 15, 2021. Her immediate family has drastically rearranged jobs, plans, projects, and commitments to do whatever it takes to support Violet. Our goal is to support Violet's family while they are supporting her. 

Are you local to Olympia or Tacoma? Please contact the administrators of this fundraiser if you would like on be on an on-call volunteer list. As needed we will reach out and ask for help (e.x. cook meals, clean, work in the yard, run errands, etc.).  

Are you local to Portland? Please join the extended family for a 5K walk/run on Saturday, August 28 at 9 am, starting at Waldrips at 11132 NW Montreux Lane, Portland, OR 97229. Funds are being used to pay medical expenses and bills. If any funds are leftover, they will be put into a savings account for Violet.
