Our CEO doesn't just talk - she did it!
In June 2013, Oak Flats Bowling & Recreation Club's CEO, Debbie Organ, came across a post on a Pet Rescue site. A homeless man in Sydney had lost his beloved dog. Debbie couldn’t have known then that responding to that ad would change the course of her life.
For many years, Debbie has participated in the CEO Sleepout in Wollongong. In 2021, she helped launch our very own local sleepout at Oak Flats Bowling Club—and this year marks the 4th Annual SleepOut.
To honour that moment, Debbie will once again be sleeping out at Oak Flats Bowling Club on Saturday 28th June, joined by the board directors, management, and staff from Oak Flats Bowling Club and the Illawarra Yacht Club.
In 2021, Carrie—the lost dog who brought Debbie and John together—joined us for the sleepout. Sadly, she passed away peacefully in her sleep October that year. John and Debbie miss her dearly.
On Saturday 28th June, in the lead-up to the sleep out, we’ll also be hosting a Movie Night at Oak Flats Bowling Club, with proceeds from ticket and snack sales going toward our fundraising efforts. It's a fun way to support a serious cause—bring your family, enjoy a great film, and help make a difference in our community.
Funds donated to our cause, raised online, and on the night at our 4th Annual Sleep Out and will support the St Vincent de Paul Food Truck in Wollongong.
Every donation makes a difference. Thank you for your support.
