Vince Waner's Medical Fund

Vince was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was given up to a year to live. After multiple pivitol surgeries, more CT Scans & biopsies than you can count,  and a 34 day stay at the hospital, he was blessed with a   91% chance to live to 5 years. If he reaches 5 years, he'd have 9-15% chance to live longer. How does a person wrap their brain around that? Lori and her family never thought they would have to see her best friend and partner in life go through something as awful as this. 

As if it could get any worse, they had cancelled their health coverage in December and were waiting for open enrollment in March to reinsure their health.  In Mid January, Vince went to the hospital with tremendous pain and this is when they discovered he was sicker than they thought. He was rushed via ambulance to the city to better care for him and the surgeries commenced.. Not only will they have this entire bill out of pocket, They will not allow him to start his much needed chemo until they can put down a large and continued sums of money, cash..  They are going through the many hoops of being insured though medicaid, but as you can imagine, its difficult to insure someone who already has an expensive illness. It is as bad as it sounds...But  you wouldn't know it if you spoke with them.  They are in good spirits, something as tragic as this series of event, really makes you realize how precious life is.
