Rebuild the Gomez Hale

My name is Leina Johnson and I created this account on behalf of my mom, Cecelia and step-dad Richard. Last week, Kauai's severe rain storms have caused such devastation to the north side of the island where they both live and work. Their home was flooded due to the rise of the river less than 300ft away from their home.  The water level was more than 3 feet high in and around the property. Before the breach of the reservoir, they were able to evacuate their home with the clothes on their backs, their wallets and their cat, Charlie. No one was hurt but upon returning to the house, it was still standing but they discovered that everything in the house was ruined.  They lost everything....furniture, beds, clothes, appliances, family photos and memories.
Mom is a home nurse care taker for an elderly woman in Ha'ena. The landslides on the north side of the island has prevented her from getting  back to work. Richard, more affectionately known by many on the North Shore as "Mez" is known for his custom wood furniture and carpentry. The flood damaged his equipment and tools making it nearly impossible to get back to work on orders. The money that is raised is to assist immediately with the loss of both mom and dad's income, then with the rebuilding of the family home and the purchasing of the tools needed for work. 
We, as their children, all live off island and in the mainland and would want nothing more than to be there with our family. This fundraising money will tremendously help the Villatora-Gomez ohana get back on their feet and rebuild the home that we all love and cherish.
