Villa Vrindavana: Support Covid-19 Emergency

Villa Vrindavana need YOU

The coronavirus emergency  is seriously compromising the existence of Villa Vrindavana.

The maintenance of the villa is normally guaranteed by donations generated by events, seminars, conferences, spiritual retreats offered to people of all over the world but now everything is stopped and we have been forced to cancel all the spring and summer programs, which are the periods in which Villa Vrindavana recovers the economy also  for the winter months where activities are minimal.

This emergency has practically canceled all the possibility of maintaining the villa for at least 1 year

But Villa Vrindavana is like a big elephant that needs a lot of food every day to live.

Your help, whatever it may be, is fundamental for the future of this important temple, center of spirituality of culture and social encounter

A short story

The International Society of Krishna Consciousness or ISKCON belongs to the monotheistic tradition of Gaudiya Vaisnava sampradaya (direct lineage) which has its roots in the ancient Vedic culture of India.

The Hare Krishna spiritual movement, as it is more commonly known in the world, landed in Italy in the seventies and Rome welcomed the first small temple.

During the seventies, ISKCON, with the help of thousands of devotees, friends, supporters, acquired Villa Fenzi, rechristened Villa Vrindavana; is a 16th Century building a few Kilometers from the center of Florence, in the heart of the Chianti countryside.

The Villa is the main temple of the Hare Krishna movement in Italy.

The temple provides guidance, refuge, and spiritual support to the devotees that live integrated within society at large and to all those seekers who would like to deepen their knowledge of the Vedic tradition and its transcendental themes.

Today Villa Vrindavana is structured around creating and offering a genuinely spiritual space, where people can unwind in an environment ideally suited for the practice of yoga and spirituality.

In the villa there is an amazing Museum on Mahabharata and vedic culture and a loving vegetarian center called Govinda where the food, strictly vegetarian, is prepared with love and devotion.

The breathtakingly lush framework of gardens and woods which the Villa is surrounded by and which boasts an area of eighty-five hectares, guarantees the conditions for relaxing walks and naturally inspires meditation.

The values that the Hare Krishnas set forth are, without a doubt, of universal interest and benefit, and the fundamental exchanges between religions and cultures have consequently led groups of many other traditions to choose Villa Vrindavana for their spiritual retreats.

The Hare Krishnas have traditionally been committed to the practice and spread of values and knowledge such as vegetarianism, meditation, karma, reincarnation, and holistic medicine, and have, over time, become an important point of reference in the global spiritual culture.

Villa Vrindavana’s commitment, like that of all HVilla Vrindavana need YOU
