Vildosola family needs your help

On September 12th, one of our great friends and an inspiring family member hurt himself in an unfortunate skateboarding accident. Jerry was so excited about his new electric skateboard until he was almost hit by a car in a parking lot. To prevent being hit, Jerry jumped off the skateboard and tore both his bilateral patellar tendons, received tears in the upper patellar tendons and has damage to the tissue on both knees.

Since the accident, Jerry has been on bed rest as he is unable to move his knees and has minimal lower body movement. He is currently staying at a nursing facility while he awaits his upcoming surgery. After the surgery, it is expected he will stay at an acute care hospital for 2-3 weeks before even being considered to go home. Jerry will be unable to stand for minimum of 3 months and is expected to start walking by 9-12 months with a near full recovery expected at 12-15 months. He is expected to receive physical and occupational therapy up to 15hrs+ a week.

Jerry is first and foremost a father of 4. Although two children are his step children, Jerry treats them as they're his own and is always there for the kids. He always puts an emphasis on doing family activities for the Vildosola clan, so the children have a strong essence of great family values they can carry on.

Jerry is an Operations Manager for a company he loves and is deeply committed to his employees and customers. Nicknamed "JearBear" it is a perfect reflection of his big Teddy Bear heart.

While being a dedicated employee on call 24/7 and raising 4 kids he is also a college student. About 3 years ago he decided to pursue a goal he has always had and receive a college level associate degree. He recently received his certificate of achievement for completing all networking and IT fundamentals. He has one more class to go to obtain the associate degree. Although severely stressed, Jerry stayed committed showing his family that perseverance and obtaining goals no matter how hard, are always achievable.

Jerry must file for short term disability cutting his pay in nearly half and he is the primary financial provider for his family of 6. He is not able to assist his fiancé in daily activities like feeding the kids and taking/picking them up from school. His fiancé is now working extra hours at her job in addition to taking care of the kids and Jerry. The family needs help with bills and copays and modifications to the house such as shower bars, toilet bars, bathtub seats, and ensuring house is wheel chair accessible, which are all required for Jerry to live comfortably home.

Jerry has such a big heart and is always giving, whether it's bringing food and gifts in to the office or cooking for his coworkers and friends which he loves. He gets enjoyment from making people smile. In this time of need we are asking that you donate if you are able and help relieve the financial stress of the Vildosola family as Jerry gets ready to go through the healing process.
