My name is Tallen Angelique Perez Perez and my family is from the island of Vieques. Our roots have been in place there for well over 300 years. This campaign has been setup to assist in the relief efforts of the victims on Vieques Island, Puerto Rico. My aunt, Angie Adams, has been working tirelessly to get the media involved and to help in the recovery of the island. She has stated that the basic necessities aren't being met as people are an extremely dire situation and food is dwindling.
Hurricane Maria has left Vieques decimated. As being someone from there and knowing the beauty of the island first hand, I see it as my duty to help and assist in any way I can. All of Puerto Rico, Vieques and Culebra have no running water, no light and no means of communication.
I am currently setting up bins/drums in New York City to fill with clothes and such. You may contact me directly to find out how to get those items to me. I will be meeting with borough President Ruben Diaz to collectively work towards the efforts of getting supplies and help directly to Vieques.
All donations will go to the likes of:
- Non-perishable items
- Baby supplies
- First Aid
- Purchase of supplies needed to rebuild (i.e. wood, nails, etc.)
- Solar powered flashlights
- Chainsaws (additional chains for clean up)
Your help can make this transition much easier to go through. Please, I ask this from the bottom of my heart with all the love I have, please help.
