We are shipping from Topeka Generators , Tarps, Tents, Mosquito Nets, Solar Chargers, Trickle Chargers and Solar Battery Rechargers & Food. 3 Groups I am working through that I personally know the directors. All 3 are 501c 3s and will give a tax deductible receipt. Keep your receipt as they are in midst of a hurricane.
Please ship these things to them. Vieques is a little island with no big stores and everything must be brought in by boats.
If want to donate cash do through here and we will get supplies and ship and keep a record.
I'm a member of Vieques Rotary (Don't tell Wayne :)) and our President Stuart Hankin of Lazy Jacks was literally organizing boats and plane trips to Tortola as their island is decimated. In addition, I have been working with Capt Ron Solt of Vieques Power Cat and of the Navy League of Vieques and they have delivered $4000 of chain saws, tarps tents on a Coast Guard cutter and are working with local boat guys and the local flight to bring relief after Irma to Tortola. Again the plan, if we get hit we will use on VQS and then distribute extra to Tortola. Vieques residents have helped tremendously Tortola first 8 days,. Lastly Corfei, an organization with the mission on Vieques to assist elderly who do not have families in Vieques and all cancer victims. They were one of our Rotary pop up fundraisers last year when they needed medical supplies. They unexpectedly have been housing 8-10 families after Irma. I have been shipping food to them in US Post Office Flat rate $18.95 12 x 12 x 6" boxes. Their address is Corefi P.O. Box 97, Vieques, PR 00765. They will send a receipt for your gift. I am sure need is great.
Now the devastating Hurricane Maria hit us so hard yesterday, so the plan in advance was to use the shipments for need on VQS which is great and then take extras on over to Tortola.
We will make sure they are sorted and handed out properly to locals specifically in need! We guarantee that the items will get to the hands of those who need it!!! Any little bit counts!!!
