Help Victoria learn to Walk

Donation protected
Hello Family & Friends,
I am not one to do these kinds of things and to be completely honest it is uncomfortable asking for help.   Even so I will literally do ANYTHING to help my sweet girl.  For those of you who don’t know Victoria, she is a sweet loving girl who happens to have multiple disabilities.   She was born with issues that have brought us many heartaches and joy at the same time.  Anything she does independently is a huge victory for her.

Victoria began receiving therapy when she turned 3 years old.  She’s had OT, PT & Speech therapy either at home or school.  She has improved in many ways but her ability to stand on her own and walk is still very difficult.  As Victoria has gotten older she has become frustrated with the inability to move around without someone's assistance.  Her frustration stems from being restricted and not being able to participate in daily or normal activities.  If she could walk or even stand on her own she would be able to become a little more independent and maybe less frustrated.

We want to do something more for her.  I know for a fact she could walk with the right type of therapy.   I heard about a facility that offers conductive therapy.   I will learn more about the therapy during next week’s evaluation but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.  We have a friend whose nephew is special needs, he is walking on his own.  The facility that specializes in conductive therapy is located in Orlando, FL called Conductive Education Center of Orlando (CECO) www.ceco.org.  If you have a chance to visit their website, you’ll see the amazing things they have done for so many like Victoria.

Why we need your help:
CECO will evaluate Victoria next week.  Once we receive the recommendation, she will be able to attend the summer camp session I.   If she does well she could possibly stay for session II.   Each camp is 4 weeks long Monday-Friday beginning June 11th- Aug 3rd.  We will need stay in Orlando for a total of 8 weeks.  My mom has volunteered to stay with Victoria in Orlando while we continue to work.
The cost of enrollment and lodging will have to be out of pocket.   Our insurance or Medicaid does not cover any cost associated with this type of therapy.  We’ve also searched for grants & scholarships but Victoria either doesn’t qualify or the organizations do not offer assistance with therapy sessions.  This is why Victoria needs your help!

So as his mother I am asking my friends and family to please help my sweet girl.  Anything helps even the smallest amount adds up.  Even if you are unable to donate could you please take a second and share this on your Facebook page/email?

I am so blessed and grateful to be Victoria’s mom and I believe she was put in my life for a reason.  Our lives have been blessed since the day she was born.   I love her beyond words and I want to do whatever I can to make her life better.  Thank you so much and if you have any questions at about Victoria or the therapy please don't hesitate to contact me.

With Love,
The Medrano Family,
Victor, Veronica, Victoria & Ryan
