Victoria Goes to Lebanon

I hit the jackpot, ladies and gentlemen. This summer, from the beginning to June to the end of July, I will be interning in Beirut, Lebanon. For those of you I haven’t seen in a while, this will be the summer after my junior year as a Communications major at Cedarville University. Here's the short version of the trip, and my part. There's a lot of gaps, so if you have questions ask away!
So, what’s going on over there? Sponsored by OneHope (https://onehope.net/), a nonprofit based in South Florida, my trip to Beirut, Lebanon will be in partnership with local ministry Just For Kids. The primary focus is bringing the Gospel to children through programs in schools, churches, orphanages and hospitals. Just for Kids is a full time drama team that uses powerful and creative communication to capture children’s attention and help them understand the message of the Gospel. The team reaches an average of 45,000 children a year around the middle east.
I’ve been selected as the Assistant Program Coordinator, so I’ll be leading the other six American interns on the Lebanon team. I will be responsible for their ministry training during our 6 weeks in Beirut. We will be assisting the Just For Kids program and learning the outcome-based ministry approach that OneHope uses. Last summer I was in intern in Florida with the OneHope Cultivate program (http://onehope.net/outreach/cultivate/), learning the ropes of how their organization works. I’ve had a special interest in the Middle East, not knowing a trip like this could be in the cards. I am so excited to impact not only the children of Lebanon, but the other interns I’ll be working with.
Through the magic of this program, OneHope covers expenses once we’re in Lebanon. However, I have to fundraise approximately $2,000 for travel expenses. If you can contribute in any way to this costs, it would be a huge blessing.
I’d love to hear from you. If you have any questions about my trip to Lebanon, the ministry I’ll be working with, OneHope, or anything else please get in touch!
