<div>My name is Victoria, I’m 28, have big limitations from cystic fibrosis, but even bigger dreams.

<div>I have been struggling a lot financially lately. I’ve been sick for many months now and finally was admitted to hospital for a month at UTSW, discharged, and then immediately got sick(er) again leading to myself going to ICU/admitted again.
</div>
<div> Im fighting for my life with a potentially fatal infection. I’ve been diagnosed with challenges like CF-related diabetes from pancreatic failure/insufficiency. I rely on a lot to keep me alive. It has been just enough to get by until now.
</div>
<div> <strong>I am negative in my account and card statements up to owing $2000, due to medical expenses / problems.</strong> Specific medical equipment, appointments, medicine, therapies, surgeries, hospitalizations, and procedures or labs that aren’t covered by my insurance anymore. I need help.

<div>I am embarrassed to ask, but having a disability like cystic fibrosis means I have to be on Medicaid with disability. There has been a lot of new vital medication, devices, and medical equipment that I haven’t been able to get covered. I take over 50 medications whether you’d like to believe me or not, and the grants that were from a foundation called Healthwell don’t cover things like diabetic supplies. Other CF-related Healthwell grants have lost funding and no longer exist.

<div><strong>I MUST stay on Medicaid for covering a life-saving medication called Trikafta, which is about $250K/$300K per year, as well as these frequent and long hospital stays.</strong> It’s the reason I can’t get off disability/Medicaid—I will die. Although these are currently covered by Medicaid, many more necessities are NOT.

<div>And I can’t have a job at this time. I will lose my Medicaid entirely because that’s how it works in TX. There are significant cuts.

<div><strong>It is complex , but I still have normal bills that most people also have, but yet I’ve spent nearly $1500 on medication &amp; medical necessities in <em>just the last month. </em></strong>

<div>I have appointments from specialists that are paid out of pocket because it’s not covered. Surgeries that aren’t covered.
</div>
<div>I have to get new medical devices for home that aren’t being covered.
</div>
<div>The rest are recurring expenses like sensors, and medications.
</div>

<div>1 glucose sensor can last 10-14 days and it is the cheapest option, but not covered by insurance. The price with Good RX is $150 a month.

<div>Even $5 will help me at least get closer to being out of the negative in my bank and closer to stability/health..

<div>I am in a dire situation financially and medically. I just left ICU at the time of writing this, and miss my home and my family, including my cats. I have 2 surgical procedures in the next couple of days. I just need help getting to a point where I can afford to live, and from there on I hope to be able to live my life day to day in a less stressful manner and not have to get sicker and sicker due to not being able to afford required medical expenses that aren’t covered by Medicaid.
