Victoria & Lauren's survival story

Donation protected
Victoria and Lauren were living on Sint Maarten for medical school when Hurricane Irma came through and destroyed the island. They sought shelter inside the med school and made it safely through the storm. Unfortunely their apartment along with most of their belongings were not so lucky. They made it over a week with limited food, no running water, no phone services or internet and not knowing how long it would be until help came. Not thinking of themselves Lauren helped gather food and start a system for food rations while Victoria helped set up a makeshift hospital in the school and assisted a surgeon in helping the injured. They witnessed bodies being pulled from canals and saw the destruction first hand. They saw pirates and other armed looters steal and ravish whatever was left on the island. They were finally rescued after many failed attempts and flown to Chicago. Unfortunely the little bit of things they salvaged were lost or stolen during the evacuation. Victoria's medical books, equipment, laptop, and her 'White Coat' is all gone. They will be flying to London to restart medical school but will have to start over with everything, including a place to live. They are not being refunded the prepaid rent that was given for their apartment on the island. This is such a scary, uncertain time for them and my family. Please pray for them and if you so feel lead, consider donating to them.
