I want to tell you about precious family that is in need of our help. I have known Magaly Cordova for close to ten years and she has become a dear friend and a blessing to me.
Magaly and her partner, Victor Perea, have been together for 15 years. They have two kids, Natalia (13) and Santi (3). They have lived in Homewood, AL for 9 years and Natalia attends Homewood Middle School. Both Magaly and Victor have worked in the Homewood and surrounding area for almost 10 years.
Victor was diagnosed with Covid19 on September 3rd and was hospitalized at UAB on September 11th. He had to be placed on a ventilator on 9/19. Victor got stronger and was able to come off of the vent on 10/3. Unfortunately, one of his lungs then collapsed and he has been back on a ventilator since 10/7. He has tested negative for Covid19 as of 10/8, but his heart is weak and his body retained too much air from the collapsed lung. The doctors are doing everything they can, but right now his heart is also damaged. He is nowhere close to being out of the woods.
As many of us are, this family is a two income family. Victor has not been able to work for over a month. I am asking you to donate what you can to them. I know our community loves one another and in these unprecedented time, kindness matters more than ever. Prayers are, of course, welcome as well. Specifically pray for his heart to get stronger and that his lungs are able to recover. Pray for strength for Victor physically, spiritually and emotionally. Pray that Magaly experiences the peace of God and continues to walk this path with unwavering faith. Pray that these children get to see their daddy again.
