My Name is Tony Howell, I am collecting funds for an old friend Victor Halls
Myself and a group of 45 others are taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge on 6th October 2017.
We are looking to raise 4.5 - 5 k to support Victor in a new stem cell treatment to stop, slow down or even cure his MS.

My name is Victor Halls, In 2000, my life changed. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. This disease has severely affected my mobility and slowly robbed me of my independence.
Multiple sclerosis, or MS, is a long-lasting disease that can affect your brain, spinal cord, and the optic nerves in your eyes. It can cause problems with vision, balance, muscle control, and other basic body functions.
I have progressively become worse and ultimately wheelchair bound, unable to walk, work or play with my grandchildren.
I have tried every medicine, experimental treatment and radical treatment available but nothing has been able to slow the progression as I now enter the later stages of the disease.
There is however hope
In a despairing search to find anything to halt this sickness, I came across hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) treatment, which most claim has halted the progression of MS in 80% of people and could reverse disability in 60 to 70per cent of people. It also reportedly has a 1% mortality rate.
This is my only hope
The cost of the treatment is approximately £35,000 - £45,000 depending on the length of hospitalisation required. There is, of course, also the cost of flights and visa, accommodation after treatment and other incidental expenses.
I hope that the treatment will halt my relentless relapses, at the least halt my MS and give me back a much better quality of life.
