- support empirical research asked-for by key decision makers, where unfunded by Government, towards clarifying the effects of gender-bias in the Family Courts;
- and to support legal action (e.g. a Collective Redress Action) that compensates victims of the UK Family Courts (under Private Law), towards bringing about much needed judicial change.
The fund has in an initial aim to have a Collective Redress Action under Group Litigation assessed by a team of legal-experts consisting of one of the largest firm of solicitors in the country together with a pre-appointed Queen's Counsel barrister, (both working at discounted rates). In the future, it is hoped all children will have a guarantee of shared-parenting in families that may contain separated biological parents, but are also families that are seen as life-style choices, rather than failures to be dealt with at court.
Who We Are
The DOUBTFIRE FUND was the idea of a small collection of authors and publishers. The concept is to support the cause of parents estranged from their offspring by Family Court intervention and who, like the fund's namesake, will do anything for their children.
What We Intend to Do
After 30-years of using a Mother Centric policy, the UK Family Courts have damaged the lives of an estimated 3 million parents & children. Long-term this fund will finance asked-for research & legal action(s) to bring about much needed change.
How We Help
Money donated goes automatically to a community bank account called The Doubtfire Fund. Initially gifts will be made from this bank account to a charity(s) who agree to manage a litigation team working with a selection of parents and/or children who have been seriously harmed by Family Court rulings.
