Victims of Boilermakers 154

Hello, my name is Nick Conley. I am a resident of Pittsburgh, PA and an Apprentice with the Boilermakers Local 154, also located in Pittsburgh, PA.

This campaign is to raise funds for two Local 154 Boilermakers families; Kevin Bachner & John Gorchock who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty. All funds raised will be for Kevin & John's family for funeral expenses, and to help with two very young children that lost their father. All of the funds raised will be split 50/50 between Kevin & Johns family for any and all costs caused by this horrific tragedy.

When this campaign has reached its goal, the funds will be withdrawn directly into my personal checking account and distributed immediately to the victims family by John Hughes, Boilermakers 154 Business Manager.

Enerfab corporation is also helping. Donations can be made through them at 1155 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA 15017.

A donation can also be made at any PNC Bank location.

Late Tuesday evening on August 29, 2017, there was an unfortunate tragedy involving Local 154 Boilermakers. These Boilermakers were contracted by Enerfab Corp. Work was being performed in a 30 foot slurry pit. Our men were removing an elbow on a discharge line, which exposed them to (what we believe to be) hydrogen sulfide gas. John Gorchock Jr. And Kevin Bachner were unable to get out of the pit and succumbed to their exposure of fumes. The other men; Michael Gorchock (John Gorchock's brother), Thomas Cantwell, Nathaniel Compton and Mark Wagner, (Bruce Mansfield Plant employee) were all effected by the gas exposure and were taken to area hospitals. Their current prognosis appears to be favorable.

State Troopers and OSHA are conducting an investigation surrounding the events of this horrific incident. SERT is also involved focusing on prospective failures in protocol. Updates will be provided as the investigation continues.

Fraternally yours,

Boilermakers Local 154
