Victim of Body Dysmorphia

Donation protected
Hello, I am organizing this for my baby sister. I have a sister who could not see her beauty or her value; her name is Shantae but we all call her Kay Kay. She is an ambitious single mother. Her favorite thing to do is being a mother and building her brand as a hairstylist. She was on her way to growing her business and her clientele. She had enrolled in a class to increase her skills and knowledge about hair. She covered the cost of the class with her own money. She is a true young entrepreneur. She made her money honestly by working full-time and doing hair on the side.

She, like many other young ladies, suffered from body dysmorphia. A condition that blinds you from seeing your own true beauty. Although we saw her as a gorgeous, independent lady, she looked at herself as someone who needed to be "fixed". Unfortunately, on May 18, 2022, she made a decision to go to Mexico to be "fixed". Her vulnerability, low self-esteem, and mental health put her in a predicament that she was taken advantage of. She put her trust in a doctor who took an oath to do no harm to his patients. Because of his unsanitary practices (that my sister was not aware of at the time), He did not stand by that oath which resulted in Kay Kay getting a horrible flesh-eating bacteria. This bacteria has killed many and has left others with multiple surgeries weeks later. On May 18th she had the surgery. On May 20th she was in a Burn ICU. Her wounds were so bad, that regular ICU nurses would not be able to manage them. She had to learn how to walk again. She is still walking with a walker. She still has two wound machines to help with the healing process. She is still in a lot of pain. To make matters worse, the Mexican doctor and his office have cut off all communication with my sister, even blocking her on Facebook. Since sharing her story, 10 other ladies have stated they are going through the same thing as a result of the same doctor. He has cut off all communication with them as well.

I am so thankful that God saved her life and through God, Kay Kay, will be strong enough to keep fighting. She has gotten over one mountain but she has more on the path. Because of lost wages, she is having problems covering the cost of her bills, including additional medical expenses, and expenses of making sure her kids are taken care of during her time of healing. With your help, she can offset some of her stressors. She has a long road ahead of her trying to heal and recover. Please consider helping Kay Kay. Thank you in advance for any help you are able to provide.
