Vicky's huge heart

Hi! My name is Maria Victoria, but everyone calls me Vicky. I'm 9 years old, I love dancing and recreating choreographies, even though I can't hear properly you can tell music is my passion. I was born with Down syndrome but I've had a very healthy and proactive life. I'm a Venezuelan living in Houston, Texas.
I had an ear tube implant with adenoids removal surgery scheduled, for the 7th of December of last year, but to our surprise I didn't pass the preop exam. The nurse found a big concerning noise in my heart and sent us to Cardiology specialists, where later I was found with a heart murmur, diagnosed with regurgitation of my Mitral valve, AV Complete Canal, Rastelli type A. I don't have any symptoms so it didn't get detected before.
Which basically means I have the 4 chambers of the heart interconnected, in my case by with three holes which causes blood from both sides of the heart to mix, and too much blood circulates back to the lungs before it travels through the body. This also means the heart works harder than it should have to, oxygen-rich blood mixes up with the oxygen-poor blood, and with my mitral valve being so open not all the blood that should go up to the body goes out, it comes back down and overfills my heart which has already enlarged significantly, we don't even know for how long has been growing like this and the doctors are really concerned about it, this can cause serious damage if the problems aren't repaired soon and it can eventually lead to heart failure.

The good news is that it can be repaired!
Doctors considered I need to go for open heart surgery as soon as possible and get this corrected before any complications or regrets.
The insurance does not cover the total amount of the surgery and the remaining is pretty high, even though we have not received the final budget, the initial butget was pretty high even after insurance coverage. My parents are workig full-time, they are going to need to ask leave with no payment for those days, and I am going to need a lot of attention.
My mom has been under a lot of pressure and by the end of December she had a hemorraghe that involved hospitalization, blood transfusion and she is also going to need surgery, so that's even more to add up to. As you can see, bills keep coming up and we would kindly appreciate your support in anyway, and please share this post.

Tenía programada una cirugía implante de tubular en los oídos, acompañada de extracción de adenoides, programada para el 7 de diciembre del año pasado, pero para nuestra sorpresa no pasé el examen pre-operatorio. La enfermera encontró un gran ruido preocupante en mi corazón y lo envió a los especialistas en cardiología, donde más tarde me encontraron con un soplo cardíaco, diagnosticado con regurgitación de mi válvula mitral, canal AV completo, Rastelli tipo A. No tengo ningún síntoma, por lo que no fue detectado antes.
Todo eso básicamente significa que tengo las 4 cámaras del corazón interconectadas, en mi caso con tres huequitos que hacen que la sangre de ambos lados del corazón se mezcle, y demasiada sangre circula de regreso a los pulmones antes de viajar a través del cuerpo. Esto también significa que el corazón trabaja más de lo que debería, la sangre rica en oxígeno se mezcla con la sangre pobre en oxígeno, y como mi válvula mitral está tan abierta, la sangre que mi corazón debería de bombear hacia el cuerpo no sale completa, se regresa y llena mi corazón, que ya se ha agrandado significativamente por esto, no sabemos cuánto tiempo ha estado creciendo así, y los médicos están realmente preocupados por esto, esto puede causar un daño grave si los problemas no se reparan pronto y eventualmente puede conducir a la insuficiencia cardíaca.
Las líneas amarillas indican donde están los huequitos en mi corazón.
La buena noticia es que puede ser reparado!
Los médicos consideraron que debo someterme a la cirugía de corazón abierto lo antes posible y corregirlo antes de cualquier complicación o arrepentimiento.
El seguro no cubre el monto total de la cirugía y el resto es bastante alto, a pesar de que no hemos recibido el presupuesto final, el monto inicial fue bastante alto incluso después de la cobertura del seguro. Mis padres están trabajando a tiempo completo, tendrán que pedir permiso sin pago y yo necesitaré mucha atención.
Mi mamá ha estado bajo mucha presión y a finales de diciembre tuvo una hemorragia que involucró hospitalización, transfusión de sangre y va a necesitar también una cirugía, por lo que es mucho más que agregar a la cuenta. Como pueden ver, las facturas siguen subiendo y agradeceríamos su apoyo de cualquier manera, y por favor comparte esta publicación.
