The Gonzalez family

On Sunday, September 18 at around 8:30pm, the Gonzalez family, owners of a local food establishment suffered a devastating house fire. Everyone made it out safely, and there were no serious injuries, but because of where the fire began, some members have lost everything and only escaped with the clothes they were wearing.

If you know this family, you know that this is unfortunately not the first time tragedy has struck. In October of 2021, they lost their 7 year old son Dominik to childhood cancer. As they are approaching this one year anniversary and all of the emotions and sadness that comes with that, they also now have to somehow find the strength to move forward from this fire.

The entire house will have to be rebuilt. Whether it was from actual fire damage, or the damage from smoke and water, the house is a total loss. The family is in need of clothing, food, shelter and even toys for their two young elementary aged children since all of theirs are now gone.

Because of the damage, they have all been displaced and are trying to figure out their next steps on what looks like will be a solid year to rebuild based on what they are being told by insurance and contractors.

This gofundme has been set up to try and help them with immediate costs and expenses that are piling up very quickly and becoming overwhelming. They have been through so much, our hope is to try and make something a little easier on them as they navigate this nightmare.
