Vicki's Double-Lung Transplant

Donation protected
As many of you know, Vicki suffers from cysytic fibrosis which has caused serious deterioration, causing her to need a double-lung transplant as soon as possible.
Vicki has been in the hospital since July. She got released a few times, but her lungs weren't strong enough to breathe on their own.

Vicki was in Albany Med before she was transported via helicopter to Columbia Presbyterian on august 24th where she will remain until she receives her double-lung transplant. Due to the serverity of her current health, she has been placed at the top of the list and is next up for her transplant.

For those of you who don't know Vicki- let me describe her for you. She is kind-hearted, loving, courageous, patient, determined, funny, creative, talented- she is a warrior. Vicki has spent her entire life fighting the symptoms of cysytic fibrosis and still remains the most positive, strong and vivacious person I know. Those of you who do know her, I know your words would be the same. She is one-of-a-kind and right now she and her family need our help.

The cost of Vicki's hospital stay over the past few months is one thing, but now they have this lung-transplant to prepare for. Vicki will need to stay in the hospital until she receives her new lungs if her current state of health remains as is. Following the transplant, depending on recovery rate she'll have a few weeks in the hospital to recover and then she will have follow-up appointments including x-rays, lab tests, ECG, lung function tests, and specialist visits.

Vicki's family has been by her side every single moment of every sinlge day.  Darlene, Kevin and Jeremy have not let a minute go by without one of them being by her side. And as you can imagine, the cost of traveling to NYC, paying for parking, food, etc. is adding up on top of all the obvious hospital costs.

Like most people, Darlene and Kevin would never ask for help themsleves, so I am doing it for them. Please help support our friends in getting through this very difficult time. Let's help make it a little less stressful and  let them feel the love and support of their community, family and friends. Any little bit helps.

Love to you all and thank you.
