Hello and welcome to Vickie's Journey. This GoFundMe campaign has been set up by family as one way friends and family can offer the Damro family support during Vickie's treatment process for lung cancer. As we all know, the road to treatment includes many expenses and changes in a household including unexpected travel, lodging, and living expenses. Due to the initial presenting symptoms of the illness and the chemo/radiation therapies Vickie has been recieving, she has had to temporarily step away from her passion of caring for her little's in her daycare that she loves so much. Vickie's Story

After several weeks of not feeling well with symptoms similiar to allergies and bronchitis and many doctor visits, Vickie was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer in September 2017. Within days of diagnosis, radiation and chemotherapy treatments were started. Within a short period of time, Vickie's respiratory symptoms began to improve, and she could sleep and rest more comfortably. 
October 10, 2017 Vickie completed her first round of radiation.

Vickie and Todd traveled to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and will stay there to complete the 5 days of treatment. Vickie started the stereotactic radiation yesterday. The next step will be to begin immunotherapy while at Mayo.
