Message from the Contreras Family, 10/9/2018:

On behalf of my mom, sister and I, we would like to express our gratitude for your generous support to our family during the worst time of our lives. I apologize for the delay in reaching out to thank you – this has been such a shock to our family and we have been grappling with how to deal with our tremendous loss. Since dad’s death I turned 40 and what would have been my parent’s 41st anniversary took place – dealing with his absence on these days has been unimaginable. However, we have been able to deal and focus with our loss and grief because of your help. With your help we were able to focus on our family and not worry about how we were going to pay for my father’s services. I can’t express my gratitude to each one of you for allowing us to lay him to rest in a way that I think he would have liked.

Vicente Contreras - loving father, husband, brother and friend - passed away suddenly on September 18, 2018. We grieve with the family and have established this fund to assist with funeral costs. We are blessed to have known this great man.

Update, 9/23:
Many have asked about the nature of Vicente's untimely death. He was enjoying his usual evening walk in the neighborhood. There was a two car accident at an intersection, in which the vehicles jumped onto the sidewalk. Vicente was an innocent victim who was on the sidewalk at this time. We are all still in disbelief and trying to make sense of this situation.

Services will likely be end of this week (Thursday/Friday) or the following Monday. Information to be shared as soon as confirmed.
