Jennifer Johnson and I (Melissa Franson) have started this go FundMe page in hopes that we will be able to provide Sean & Karla Elliott along with their two children Jeremey (13) and Kailey (10) some financial ease in the most difficult times of their lives. Who ever thinks it will happen to them – loss of their Husband and Father in such a short period of time.
Karla is Jen & Mine’s sister we’ve never had but do now!
On December 22, Sean went into ER not feeling well. That day they found a mass in his esophagus. In January Sean was sent to the Cancer Centre and get a treatment plan in place & start. The day Sean was to start treatment January 17, the Dr. told him and Karla that he was in liver failure and there was nothing they could do…… That Sean at best has a month left to live. Their world and their families world came crashing down.
Sean has been off work since going to the ER on December 22nd and Karla was taking time off work of all Sean’s appointments prior to January 17. As of January 17th Karla has been home full-time caring for Sean and taking care of all the preparations/paper that come with having a love one facing death.
Sean’s health is declining but he still in good spirits and will remain in Karla’s care until that is no longer an option. (But we do ask that you don’t go bombarding over to their house)
Karla’s wage will soon become that of what Compassionate Care Benefits cover, which is only a partial amount of her wage.
This is the only income Karla has to support her family while trying to care for Sean at home, take care of the kids and all the paperwork & other stuff none of use see, that involves in dealing with a dying spouse.
The money from the GoFundMe will be used to help the family with medical expenses, living expenses for now and the future and for the kids future education.
Any amount is truly, deeply appreciated and means the world to Sean, Karla, Jeremy and Kailey. As well as Sean Mom, Karla’s parents, their siblings, Jen and I.
We all thank you for your generosity and support and I will update the page as I have updates from the family.
There is a steak night fundraiser also being planned for the family looking to do, it quickly in hopes of Sean being able to make an appearance (be around for it). Final detail to come but dates are either February 5 or February 6.
