My name is Senul Wickramaratna, and I am a Life Scout in Troop 909 in Woodinville, WA. I'm currently working toward my Eagle Rank, the highest achievement in Scouting America. I've been involved in Scouting for nine years, and during this time, I've learned important lessons about leadership, responsibility, and service. Now, I have the opportunity to put those skills into action by giving back to my community through a meaningful project at Sorenson Early Childhood Center.

Sorenson ECC is a preschool in Northshore School District for students ages 3 to 5 with special needs as well as Ready Start students, those who require financial aid. A stimulating environment plays a vital role in helping these young learners thrive. By creating a space that encourages exploration and growth, we can provide them valuable learning opportunities while minimizing distractions.

For my Eagle Project, I plan to create an outdoor learning area for Sorenson. This space will feature multiple sensory-friendly benches topped with artificial grass and a large storytelling chair. These textured surfaces are designed to provide a calming and grounding experience, helping students stay focused and engaged during outdoor activities.

I’m reaching out to ask for your support in funding the materials and supplies needed to complete this project. With your help, my fellow scouts and I will build and deliver the project by this summer.
