For Robin

Robin Smith has been an invaluable part of our Middle Earth family since 2011, working with multiple age groups at the Middle Earth Child Development Center – most recently as lead teacher in the Troopers toddler classroom – and has nurtured many children with patience, love, and rich learning experiences over the years. Many coworkers at the center know Robin as a dear friend, either from years working together or earlier in life, and countless parents can doubtlessly attest the quality of Robin's teaching during their time at the center.


This year, Robin was diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently recovering from a double mastectomy. While prognosis for recovery is good, this will still be a long and expensive road. As many of you know, Middle Earth is a not-for-profit organization, and our medical insurance is going to be able to do very little to cover the costs of the surgical procedure, the follow-up chemotherapy treatments over the coming months, or any future medications or operations needed for extended wellness.


Because of the high costs associated with healthcare in this country, especially when dealing with a disease like cancer, we are asking for any assistance that can be offered to ensure that Robin is still able to be with us for many more years to come.
