Hello my name is Amber Cunha and this is our precious baby girl Avery Lynn Cunha. Avery is 19 months old. Avery had a horrible accident on Monday, February 12, 2018. She got out in our back yard and fell in our pool. I found her in the pool and immediately jumped in and got her out. I ran inside with her and immediately called 911 and started to begin CPR. When emergency vehicles arrived they ran inside grabbed my daughters life less body and ran back to the ambulance. She was taken to Mercy San Juan hospital where she was then life flighted to UC Davis Med Center and is in the PICU. Avery had 37 minutes of CPR, her heart had stopped twice and they gave her 5 rounds of epi. Avery is the sweetest little girl and needs every single prayer that anyone can give her to make it back to us with a full recovery. She is currently being kept sedated and on a breathing machine. They are waiting a few days to do an MRI of her head to look for any brain damage. So far there are zero signs of seizures going on so that is a plus. She is such a smart, brave and advanced little girl. I (mommy) have not left this little girls side for nothing. Currently we are a single income household and I am the only one able to work at this time. Yes we have insurance but insurance doesn’t cover everything. I am doing my best to support my family on my income alone but only have so much time saved up for paid leave. I do not want to lose our home plus other bills will begin to pile up but until my sweet girl makes a full recovery I will not leave her side. I know she needs her Mama with her. She loves Mickey & Minnie and the movie Trolls and just like at home she is listening to it all day in the PICU. Hoping that hearing “Disney” as she calls Mickey or Princess Papi will help her come back to us.
