North Ferriby F.C. fans celebration walk to Barton
Donation protected
Sadly, in March 2019, following a few difficult seasons under controversial ownership, North Ferriby United football club was wound-up in the courts. This brought an end 85 years of football under the club's name.
In April 2019, however, we celebrated the establishment of North Ferriby F.C. as the successor club to North Ferriby United. Les and Gill Hare, after 4 years away , have returned to create a new club which will start this season in the Northern Counties East League Division One. It'll be great to have community football back in the village!
As it turns out, 2019 is the centenary of football in the village, so we have lots to celebrate.
We at View from the Allotment End , North Ferriby F.C.'s independent fanzine, are seeking to raise funds for the club and our chosen charity for issue 12 of our magazine,Hull Foodbank, which is part of the Trussell Trust.
The first game of the new club will be a pre-season friendly against local friends and rivals, Barton Town F.C on 6th July 2019. A number of us fans are planning to walk the 6.5 miles from North Ferriby, across the Humber Bridge, to Barton Town to watch the match (K.O. 3pm). We expect it will take about 2-2.5 hours.
As part of this we are seeking your kind sponsorship. All money raised will be split equally between North Ferriby F.C. and the Hull Foodbank.
Also, we welcome anyone along who wishes to join us - Ferriby fans, football fans, or fans of a good walk over the finest bridge in the world. Final details are being confirmed but we expect to leave North Ferriby in the late morning. If you wish to join us please e-mail Matthew Kempson so we can keep you informed - [email redacted]. We will also post updates on our Twitter and on here. We are considering arrangements to get back :)
And of course, we would welcome supporters down to North Ferriby F.C. this coming season. Up the Villagers!
Finally, please do check out the great work that Hull Foodbank undertake and help them directly if you can. In the year 2017-18, for example, they provided an amazing 5100 three-day emergency supplies of food to people in crisis within the Hull area.
Thank you for your very kind support.
