Veterans suffering from TBI, CTE and PTSD
Dr. Joseph Dituri, aka Dr. Deep Sea, is underwater. Literally!
As of March 1, 2023, Dr. Dituri is living underwater for a world record-breaking 100 days in part to draw attention to his ongoing life-saving research.
He’s also underwater financially speaking, and he and his patients need your help.
Dr. Dituri is a relentless hyperbaric medicine researcher, decorated naval veteran, renowned diving explorer, and a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivor.
Fulfilling his mission to heal veterans suffering from TBI, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), and the related symptoms of PTSD, depression, and other long-term physical and mental impairments costs a lot of money.
To set up the Undersea Oxygen Clinic and the Think, “Better” brain injury recovery program, Dr. Dituri has invested tens of thousands of dollars of his own money.
But that’s just the beginning; veterans suffering from TBI or CTE can’t always afford to pay the $20,000 it costs for the treatment.
After serving 28 years in the U.S. Navy with distinction, retiring with the rank of Commander, Dr. Dituri earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. When Dr. Dituri suffered a major brain injury in a motor vehicle accident, the traditional medical practice of "diagnose and discharge" – with words of encouragement – failed to satisfy his need to find a way to actually heal his brain.
Dr. Dituri quickly discovered there is no remedy for TBI and CTE.
Being told all he needed was “a tincture of time” pretty much sealed the deal. Something had to be done. That’s when Dr. Dituri began digging into everything he knew, and a lot he didn’t know, to figure out what it takes to teach the body how to heal itself and heal the brain.
At the Undersea Oxygen Clinic, Dr. Dituri has developed a breakthrough treatment for healing the damage caused by TBI and CTE while alleviating the persistent symptoms of PTSD, depression, and related physical and mental impairments. For military heroes, this can mean a return to active duty or a normal, highly functional life after service.
Beyond healing himself and based on the results this program has achieved to date, Dr. Dituri’s vision is to dramatically reduce the agonizingly high number of suicides among TBI and CTE victims.
When a spouse says, “I have my husband back”, and a patient says, “I feel like I can think again” or, “Thank you, you saved my life,” it is obvious Dr. Dituri is fighting and winning a battle that for so long has been left unfought.
You can help. And every dollar helps. This initial Go Fund Me campaign will enable Dr. Dituri’s clinic in Tampa to become a perfect template for additional clinics around the country. There are thousands of veterans, our American heroes, who are needlessly suffering and worse, dying.
You can be part of a very big story. Imagine clinics across the country being able to provide this treatment to every veteran who needs it, regardless of their financial situation.
Donate today.
In the near future, we will be creating the opportunity for donors to sponsor treatment for individual veterans.
And, if you know of someone who is struggling to cope with the aftermath of a brain injury, contact the Underwater Oxygen Clinic here.
