The lack of adequate psychological support and rehabilitation services in Ukraine make it difficult for many veterans to heal their emotional wounds that leave a deeper scar than any physical injury.
Upon witnessing the veterans struggle to find qualified help and re-entry to civilian life, the Canadian Maple Hope Foundation in collaboration with the International Association of Support for Ukraine (IASU), launched a project that will bring Canadian post-war trauma specialists from the University of British Columbia (UBC) to Ukraine. Our project is based on highly-acclaimed effective Canadian rehabilitation program - Veteran Transition Program.
Our project is called the Ukrainian Veteran Resilience Program, “Я Повернувся”, and it will provide access to expert knowledge and training to increase the resiliency of Ukrainian mental health workers and Veterans.
After one year, our project will rehabilitate 100 veterans, and train 6 Ukrainian psychologists, with our long-term plan being to grow exponentially every year.
Your gift of peace and hope will give the returning war veterans and their families a chance to rebuild their lives.
We only need 400 people to make contributions of $150 or more to make this happen.
