<div>My name is Regina McCurdy. I am starting this fundraiser for my neighbor, <strong>David P. Vanderburg</strong>. He is a veteran. His house burned this past Sunday morning. He has lived there for years with his wife, who passed two years ago. They had always rented from his brother-in-law, and David was allowed to stay after his wife's passing. However, his brother-in-law died, and his estate was liquidated. David had to cash in his 401K he had from 27 years with the Sam's Corporation. It was everything he had. Unfortunately, because he paid cash for the house, he was not required to have homeowners insurance. His limited income prohibited the purchase of the insurance. I picked him up from the hospital yesterday, February 20, 2025. With the help of the Red Cross, he is currently at the Red Roof Inn for two weeks. <strong>He will be homeless after that, unless emergency housing comes through.</strong> I am working with multiple agencies, but rebuilding his house does not appear to be a possibility. Only temporary housing and basic current needs. <strong>I would truly love to help him stay in his home if at all possible.</strong>
