I'm 72 years old and I have fallen on hard times. I have scoliosis ,spinalstinsis ,and sciatica , deteriorating disc in my neck, and severe copd. I get up at 3 in the morning to drive 120 miles to and from work 5-6 days a week. About 2 months ago my bank account was compromised and most of my money was taken. I am currently behind on all of my bills. I'm 2 months behind on my rent and it has been harder than I thought to get things straightened out. Needless to say I need help. I'm a marine veteran and I prided myself in always taking care of me and my family. In 72 years I never asked for help of any body. Well life has humbled me and now I am asking for help. The money that was in the bank was savings towards a more reliable car to get to work. I drive a 1991 Toyota and currently I drive on 3 bad tires that are all ready to give out, no ac, and more issues showing through daily.i have medications prescribed by my doctor for my COPD and back issues that I cannot afford to get. I have gone to various agencies that offer rental assistance but they are unable to to help because on paper I made to much and they don't take into account my current situation. I cannot qualify for food stamps. Believe me I have been down every avenue to get assistance I have talked to friends and coworkers but no one is able to lend me assistance. I have received a notice to vacate if I do not catch up. I am currently working with them to avoid eviction but that will only go so far. I am 1 step away from being homeless and without a vehicle to go to work and I am humbly asking for anybody's help. Even donating $1 will add up if everyone can please help me in this hard time. I have a disabled wife who I take care of and she is unable to work. I don't fear homelessness for myself I fear for her health and safety.
