Vet costs for our new angel

Donation protected
My husband and I lost our poor boy, Bear, on Nov 13th due to age and illness.  He was the best boy and gave us the best 16 yrs of his life.  In our mourning, my husband said that he would like another dog in the future with Bear's disposition, but maybe a female.

6 days later, I'm walking a Rover dog, and a little, white, FEMALE, maltese-poodle mix (just like Bear), comes running across the street to me and my Rover dog.  I look around for anyone outside, yell, "Hello??  Anyone's dog??"  I scooped her up and returned home because the Rover owner was coming to pick her dog up.  We put out ads, Pawboost posts, and looked on Las Vegas lost and found dog websites.  We went to the vet to see if she had a chip...none.  In the meantime, her hair (as you can see in the pic) was matted and dirty, so we successfully cut her hair and gave her a bath, in which she did great!

Long story, short, I've communicated with the dog's previous owner.  He said this little girl walked into his garage ~1 year ago, and instead of taking her to a shelter, he had her join his family of already 5 rescue pets (he had also put out fliers, ads, etc, to help find the owner).  He fed her and loved her, but didn't take care of her hair.  He said he "hoped that she found her way home" when she didn't come back to his yard a couple days ago.  He is happy to have us take care of her as his 5 rescues are a lot!

So, in the last 72 hours, we are learning about this little girl.  It is obvious she has mouth/teeth issues and we were told she has seizures (none that we have seen yet).  In our time of deciding to rescue/foster her or find her a long term home, we want to get her mouth cleaned and make her more comfortable.  Vet costs for initial exam, blood work, teeth cleaning (and most definitely, distraction!), plus medication, could be upwards of $500.  That is a complete guess.  The seizures/seizure meds could be a whole another story.

But did Bear send us this little angel, a very similar replica of himself, to us to help in our mourning and grief?  It is hard to think otherwise.  So, if you are a dog lover, and believe in this story the way I do, please consider helping us with vet bills (as we've had a few with Bear's illness).  Thank you, Bear, for sending us a "little girl" in your likeness.
