Veronica Izzo

Veronica Izzo is a young teacher faithful, and loving wife and mother. Her son Alessandro is a member of Coral Springs Prime Soccer Club.  Veronica has been diagnosed with lung cancer, compromising her liver and bones. This is a call to all who want to make a difference by donating to this GoFundMe initiative. Time is of the essence and this is a chance for us to shine as humans, family, friends, and community.

Veronica started with symptoms about 4 months ago after an extensive blood work, the final diagnosis was confirmed. Veronica started with a simple cough that became a very bad infection on her lungs and was diagnosed with pneumonia.  However, her symptoms got worse and she was admitted to the hospital and was treated with strong antibiotics because her pneumonia didn’t improve. A few weeks after her lungs almost collapsed and she was admitted again for a pleural effusion (water in the lungs).  They drained water out of her lungs no sign of cancer is found.  On January 31st her lungs collapsed again and this time they found cancer in her lungs, liver and bones.  Veronica will undergo aggressive treatment with chemotherapy. She will be going through many physical changes over the next few months with treatment and will need to miss work intermittently or permanently. Despite this unforeseen obstacle, the Izzo family has remained positive and grounded in their faith. And they will need support from the community, family, and friends to help them along this journey.

Mario her husband, her son Alessandro (8 years old) and her daughter, Verona (6 years old) came from Venezuela to the United Stated just a few years ago and they are just adjusting to their new environment. They are facing new challenges and now need our support. They need our emotional and financial support.

We are all parents and can only imagine the toll this diagnosis has taken on the family. Mario has accompanied Veronica to her all doctor visits and hospitalizations whenever needed. The primary concern should be financial freedom that gives him the ability to keep their focus solely on Veronica and their 2 children. It is in times like this that the strength and support of a community is really needed.
