Almost 3 years ago, Verla was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma cancer which is a rare form of blood cancer. While she battled this ugly disease for over 2.5 years, the treatments were not working in her favor. Last December, Verla was accepted into a recently FDA approved therapy called Car-T Cell treatment. The goal was accomplished! The doctors announced that she was Cancer Free on January 17th! Unfortunately, the remedy caused a whole new round of issues to overcome. The Car-T cells remained active in her body and seeped into her spinal fluid causing neurological and mobility complications keeping her home from work and in the hospitals ER and ICU care until her final day.

At the end of this roller coaster ride, not only are Randy and Nickie mourning the loss of their beloved wife/mother, but they are also left with steep medical expenses and now funeral costs.
