Vera Levacy Memorial ALS Fund

Donation protected
On August 24, 2018, my mother, Vera Levacy, passed away from ALS. She had battled the breakdown of her body since before her diagnosis in October 2015.

ALS is a muscle-wasting neurological disorder that robs a person of almost every human dignity, including speech. Caring for a person with ALS is a challenging proposition that requires 24/7 attention.

Since we were able to borrow an electric patient lift from the ALS support volunteers in the Lubbock/Panhandle area, besides returning the lift we used on mom, we'd also like to buy an additional patient lift that can be loaned out as needed to families in Lubbock and the surrounding areas who have loved-ones battling this disease.

In lieu of flowers, we respectively request you consider helping us meet this goal. We will purchase as many patient lifts and slings that the funds we receive and are able to give ourselves will allow. We feel this is a wonderful way to honor mom and reflects what she would have wanted for others suffering from this horrible disease.
