Calling all Venture Out Owners and Guests,
WE ARE EXCITED to bring the following opportunity to you and hope that you will be equally excited to participate! It is an opportunity to express our deep gratitude and appreciation for four key members of our team, while also contributing to some exceptionally worthy local charitable causes heading into the holiday season.
As most are aware, on August 29, 2020, your Board of Directors quickly moved to emplace an interim operational leadership structure while it initiated an extensive search to select a professional association management company, as well as a new community association manager (CAM). In turn, Venture Out has since agreed to formally partner with Community Management Associates (CMA) as our association management provider, and we selected a new CAM (April Knight) who will begin in November. The transition to successfully onboard both CMA and April has begun and is expected to be completed in December 2020.
In the meantime, we have been relying on the sweat equity, enormous generosity and leadership of four full-time volunteers, in an "unpaid" status, to serve you and our entire Venture Out community since August. In addition, they have been leading us through what has been, and will continue to be, an exhaustive transition period. We want to recognize the following four individuals:
In addition to serving as a Board Director, ANGIE SINGLETARY has been serving as our interim CAM for over two months now. She will continue to do so until such time April can be fully transitioned into her new role which is anticipated to be sometime in December. Angie stepped up the moment our previous CAM announced her resignation in early August and quickly helped us fill that critical leadership void.
In addition to serving as the Board Secretary, REBECCA WHIDDEN has been serving as our interim Assistant CAM for over two months as well. In her capacity, she has been both assisting Angie in her role as interim CAM, while also discovering and modifying many of the front office procedures and processes in preparation for a transition to CMA. Rebecca's contributions and leadership have, and will continue to prove, invaluable as we onboard CMA and our new CAM.
In addition to serving as the Board Treasurer, CINDY RAINEY, has been serving as the full-time implementation team lead for Venture Out as we do a wholesale overhaul and transition of operational infrastructure and processes from a self-managed concept, to one that CMA will manage. As if that is not enough, Cindy has also led us through preparing the proposed 2021 budget and serving as the primary interface with a firm that is conducting an audit of the 2019 financials. Her leadership on all fronts will continue to be critical to ensure a successful transition.
In addition to serving as a Board Director, ALAN BOYD has been serving full time to provide operational leadership and guidance over our maintenance and security teams (with the tremendous assistance of the Security Committee). This has allowed Angie, as the interim CAM, to stay truly focused on servicing the needs of the owners and guests of our community without the burden of overseeing maintenance and security matters. And like the others, Alan's continued leadership over maintenance and security matters will remain necessary until we fully transition to CMA and the new CAM.
While there are others who have dedicated a significant amount of time and energy to keep Venture Out running until CMA and our new CAM are officially onboard, each of these four fine individuals have been working no less than 40-60 hours per week for over two months now in a total volunteer status. Unfortunately, the Board is unable to consider using general operating funds to compensate these individuals because of their official roles as Directors and Officers of the Board. Therefore, we are making the following opportunity available to you as a way for us to extend our gratitude and appreciation to each of them, coupled with the opportunity to donate to three very worthwhile local charitable causes.
CALL TO ACTION: We have established this GoFundMe page with a goal of raising $20,000. The first $4,000 collected will be divided equally and provided to Angie, Rebecca, Cindy and Alan. $1,000 per person is a long way from fully compensating them for their service and contributions, but it will serve as a gesture of thanks from Venture Out owners and guests. All monies collected above and beyond $4,000, will be split equally and donated to the following three charities in the name of Venture Out at Panama City Beach, Inc.:
Food4Kidz - https://www.food4kidz.org/ : The primary focus is to provide groceries and supplies—free of charge--to struggling families with children.
Habitat for Humanity - https://habitatbay.org/ : Habitat for Humanity of Bay County Florida, Inc. builds decent and affordable houses for people in need.
Panama City Rescue Mission - https://www.pcrmission.org/ : Since 1973, the PCRM has been committed to Christ-centered rescue, recovery, and restoration in an effort to break the destructive cycle of poverty and homelessness.
