Venice Architecture Film Festival

Ciao, siamo un'associazione culturale che ha sede a Venezia, e ci chiamiamo ArchiTuned.

La nostra idea è che se sintonizzati insieme si possono fare grandi passi per l'architettura, che poi altro non è il mondo in cui viviamo, ci relazioniamo, amiamo e sperimentiamo... quindi grandi passi per il nostro mondo. Una delle nostre attività è il Venice Architecture Film Festival che, giunto alla sua terza edizione, ha come obiettivo quello di indagare l'architettura - intesa nel suo senso più ampio (edificio, città, luogo, spazio aperto) - attraverso le storie delle persone che queste architetture le vivono.

Il festival si terrà all'Isola di San Servolo a Venezia dal 31 agosto al 2 settembre 2023.

Il tema di questa edizione è Building Happinesss e qui sotto speghiamo il perché di questo tema:

"L'architettura aiuta a sviluppare culture ed identità attraverso cui diverse comunità si possano rappresentare.

Le città e gli ambienti costruiti possono influenzare il nostro umore e il nostro benessere; cosa succederebbe se chiedessimo alle comunità - animate da desideri, bisogni, espressioni diversi - di indicare un luogo dove sentirsi a proprio agio, felici e rilassati, dove in altre parole desidererebbero vivere?

Considerando le diverse provenienze ed esigenze geografiche e culturali, i contesti sociali e le disuguaglianze, quali sono -se esistono- i requisiti per rendere possibile che gli esseri umani si sentano felici ed appagati all’interno dell’ambiente in cui vivono?

Ci si chiede anche se gli architetti considerano il fattore felicità nelle loro progettazioni come un elemento determinante o come un collaterale. Può l'architettura essere un mezzo per contribuire a costruire la felicità?

Come afferma Alain de Botton, autore e filosofo britannico nato in Svizzera, nel suo libro “Architettura e Felicità” (Pantheon Books - 2006): La fede nell’importanza dell’architettura si fonda sull’idea che tutti noi, nel bene e nel male, siamo persone diverse in luoghi diversi e sulla convinzione che sia compito dell’architettura darci un’immagine vivida di ciò che idealmente potremmo essere (...)

Questa edizione cercherà di descrivere il tema della celebrazione, della forza dell’unione collettiva e della resistenza, abbracciando e delineando una prospettiva positivista del vivere insieme."

I fondi verrano utilizzati per l'organizzazione del festival, ospitando registi, produttori ed esperti e realizzando video interviste che poi saranno parte del festival della prossima edizione, nel 2024.

Hi, we are a cultural association based in Venice, and we are called ArchiTuned.

Our idea is that if we tune together we can make great strides for architecture, which is the world we live in, we relate, we love and we experience ... so great strides for our world!

One of our activities is the Venice Architecture Film Festival which, now in its third edition, aims to investigate architecture - understood in its broadest sense (building, city, place, open space) - through the stories of the people who live these architectures.

The festival will be in San Servolo Island in Venice from August 31 to September 2 2023.

The theme of this edition is Building Happiness a crasis of the two words Inhabitants and Habitats, and below we explain why this theme is so:

"Architecture helps develop different cultures and ways of how communities feel represented.

Cities and built environments can affect our mood and wellbeing, what if we ask communities - enlivened by different wishes, needs, expressions - to share with us a place where they feel comfortable, happy and relaxed, where in other words they wish to inhabit?

Within the different geographical needs and connected changes, cultures, social contexts and inequities, what are (if any) the requirements to make it possible that humans feel content in their built environment?

Do architects consider happiness in their creations as a fundamental or as a collateral? Can Architecture be the medium to build happiness?

As Alain de Botton, a Swiss born British author and philosopher, says in his book “The Architecture of Happiness” (Pantheon Books - 2006): “Belief in the significance of architecture is premised on the notion that we are, for better or for worse, different people in different places – and on the conviction that it is architecture’s task to render vivid to us who we might ideally be.” [...]

This edition will outline the theme of celebration, collective strength and resistance, embracing a more hopeful outlook of living together."

The funds will be used for organizing the festival, hosting filmmakers, producers and experts, and conducting video interviews that will then be part of the festival's next edition in 2024.
