Hello, my name is Marcia Garcia and I’m having a rough year. Beginning with the loss of my father to a stroke in early February. I had to move hundreds of miles away from my home, job and two wonderful children in order to take care of my elderly, grieving mother. I had planned on helping to move her closer to home to Houston. Since moving my health seemed to decline, with me getting frequently too sick to work. It was then that things took a slide from bad to worst when I collapsed. Having to be taken to the ER for chest pains. The doctors told me it was my heart. Shicking me into realizing that for decades I had been walking around like a ticking time bomb because of coronary heart disease, causeing an abnormality in my heart. Finding me in the ER two times in less than two weeks. The doctors have said that on the 21nd of this month I will need open heart surgery to rebuilding three of my vessels as well as cutting part of my heart muscle to help with better blood flow. Though I am scared, I realize how lucky I am to have my family rallied around in this time of crisis. I also know that I don't have insurance, a steady job, or any hope of getting myself out of this situation on my own. I hope that any help you can possibly give will allow me to pay medical bills, eat and not be a burden to my loving family for the six months I need to recoup.
