Veggeberg Hurricane Harvey Relief

Donation protected
Like so many Texans who were devastated by the wrath of Hurricane Harvey, my cousin, Robin (Dangler) and her husband Jason Veggeberg returned to [what was left of] their home after a nine-day evacuation period. The water had risen to the top of the door frame and everything they owned and worked hard for over 25 years, was left submerged for a week; they lost everything. Robin is a school teacher and will return to the classroom next week, still not knowing what she needs to do to prepare, as she cannot even begin to wrap her head around all their belongings, unsalvageable and piled at the street, or the mud, water, and putrid odor that remains inside the house.

Disasters like this happen so quickly and due to the incredible number of people in need, federal support is stretched and slow coming. FEMA had declared their area as Zone X, or outside the 500-year flood plain, therefore, they did not have flood insurance.

The majority of both their family live in Nebraska and the surrounding states, so it is difficult for us to lend a hand. There is no way to list all the things they need, except to say, they need “EVERYTHING” from insulation and drywall, to furnishings, groceries, and linens. If there is anything you can do to help Robin and Jason Veggeberg get back on their feet and their home back to livable again, it would be sincerely appreciated by them, as well as their family and friends. Thank you!
