Hello, I'm Lisa and need your help

Hello, I'm Lisa Moore, from Llanelli. I'm a small business owner with a vision to open a vegan wholefood Emporium with a arty vintage twist.

First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this and to those for their warm wishes and support during this time of asking for sponsorship through gofundme.

My shop, would be the first of it's kind in a sea side town on the South West Coast of Wales in Carmarthenshire. You may have recently read that Wales has been named as one of the top ten countries to visit.

After reading an article a few years ago the following words became part of my vision and mantra...

"I don’t want to live in a Britain that doesn’t care about
community. And I believe that our high streets are a really important part of building communities and pulling people together in a way that a supermarket or shopping mall, however convenient, however entertaining and however slick, just never can.

Fundamentally I believe that our high street is uniquely placed to deliver something new. I believe that our high street can be lively, dynamic, exciting and social places that give a sense of belonging and trust to a community.

High streets must be ready to experiment, try new things, take risks and become destinations again. They need to be spaces and places that people want to be in. High streets of the future must be a hub of the community that local people are proud of and want to protect. "

I believe my vision will have an impact on local employment, central to driving footfall into my home town and it will also lower the carbon footprint. Through my emporium I want to breathe economic and community life back into Llanelli high street.

I began my cruelty free journey January 4th 2015 after reading about the Veganuary movement which was a great introduction to begining my journey as a non meat eater and a fantastic challenge. I have been self employed as a vintage popup event planner for just over a year, during this time I have funded everything myself which has not been easy! I launched a Vintage Festival (2016 sees us in our third year) , a Popup Vintage Emporium in 2014 which ran for 6 months in the Discovery Centre. I then went on to open Llanelli's first beach market, which was welcomed by the public, and ran the hugely successful Alice Adventures in Wonderland's 150th Tea Party in Llanelli town centre among several ARTY-PARTY children's popup events from Halloween up to Christmas in Llanelli Library. It became clear that the community will want something different to attract them back to our high street.

It's a slow, slow process trying to save money to start my vegan vintage art emporium. It was suggested that I start a Gofundme account by a new friend so here I am hoping you will support me and my vision by making a donation to get me started. We calculated that if all of the people on my email list and on my social media donated at least £5 each, the amount raised would help me set up shop quickly.

I LOVE TO COOK !! I LOVE VINTAGE !! I LOVE ART !!

It's my dream to combine what I love, making it child friendly, lively, dynamic, exciting and a social hub that gives a sense of belonging and trust to my community. I'm working hard to accomplish that dream. In addition I run ARTY-PARTY's for children using recyclable materials to create works of art and want to rent a big enough space so that I can also host ARTY-PARTY at my Emporium, so families can come vintage shopping, eat good homebaked vegan food and create together.

Part of the focus of opening my vegan vintage art emporium will be to bring children/families back to Llanelli town centre,  more and more the way people shop, eat and create things is proving that they are and also want to teach their children to be environmentally and ethically aware. Building my emporium on sustainability, which will be reflected in the menu, on the rails, racks, through the decor and all the recyclable art materials used to create things with children. I plan on it being unpolished, unpretentious and comfortable with a certain laid-back charm. The staff will be welcoming, providing friendly and attentive table service and willingly dispense knowledge about the meals on offer, such as the ingredients and how they are sourced. Using organic, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. For example let's say Broccoli is available in abundance it will be included in soup, curry, and on pizza. I will have a variety of children's workshops including make your pizza option on the menu, it's all about giving a unique experience in everything we do and sell.

I hope like me you believe my emporium is forward thinking yet wholesome and fits in nicely with the 21st century need for business's to be multifunctional social centres, not simply competitors for stretched consumers. I feel my business can offer an irresistible opportunity and experience that does not exist in Carmarthenshire and is rooted in the interests and needs of local people, and will meet the demands of a rapidly changing sea side town that's also fast becoming a holiday destination.

Could I ask you to please donate at least £5 now and share with your friends if you love my concept.

10% of the profit will be given to the charity that I work closely with.

Many thanks

Lisa
