Because of our passion for people
and the desire to help them transition to healthier lifestyles, Gerald and I decided
to start Vegan Paradice Gourmet Café. We
found a great location that had previously been a sandwich shop and was near
ready to go"”the designer said that we would be up and ready to go in 30 days. Need I say there were many delays and it
took over 120 days to get the doors open.
It had been a low-budget project from the start because we had little
money and little hope of obtaining bank financing. Yet we moved forward by faith in God. Our funds were depleted before opening day
but our determination was as great as ever.
We sold equipment that we had no use of and obtained $200 in which we
were able to open our business bank account.
Since then, Vegan Paradice has quickly become known for its delicious sandwiches, burgers, wraps, pizza, soups, salads and sweet treats.
On April 17, 2013 we celebrated our first anniversary"”a huge milestone when you consider the conditions upon which Vegan Paradice began. Nevertheless, the lack of working capital remains an issue hindering potential growth. In order to grow this establishment we need to add employees, upgrade equipment and expand our marketing efforts.
Vegan Paradice is a unique eating establishment in that our mission is to promote healthy living in the community. We're looking forward to teaching others to cook healthfully and bringing in top-quality health educators to enlighten our community. Bringing a message of healthful living and its benefits is most important to us.
At the time we were launching our Go Fund Me project, thanks to a generous donation Vegan Paradice avoided closing its doors on June 3, 2013 as had been planned. Nonetheless, the need for working capital remains urgent. Therefore, we are appealing to our friends, family, church and community for help. Small donations are huge when the crowd gets involved. Together we can move mountains and make a difference that we could never accomplish alone.
