Our Story....
As many of you know, David & I have been married for almost 12 years and have struggled to start a family of our own. Almost 2 years ago, after extensive fertility testing, we were told that our only option for conception would be IVF. This was devastating news to us and it took a while for the tears to stop, but they did stop.
During this time, we had also been looking into the process of adoption. We have always said we would love to adopt one day but we always thought it would be after we had our own bio-kids. When we received the IVF news we had some serious choices to make. Do we pursue the IVF treatments & spend the money on something that was not a guarantee or do we go the adoption route and see what happens. Well, God made HIS will for our lives so very apparent when we received a phone call from the adoption agency that would change our lives FOREVER!
"We have 2 girls, sisters, which are in need of a place to go. They are in the foster system right now and we are not sure if rights will be terminated. Are you willing to take them into your home?" This is the call I received on that August afternoon. "Oh, and I need an answer by tomorrow morning". WHAT? Total freak out mode BUT somehow I had an overwhelming sense of peace. After a sleepless night of prayer and questions and freak out moments and more prayer and more freaking out, David & I both new without a shadow of a doubt we were supposed to take these girls into our home!
So, for the past 13 months we have walked out one of the most difficult yet most satisfying years of our lives. These 2 GORGEOUS girls have brought so much joy, love, fun and adventure into our world. They are OUR girls and we have lived that way since day one. Although there have been many ups & downs regarding their case, we have ALWAYS known that God created them to be OUR children and us to be THEIR parents.
So, the day finally came when we were told "You better start your fundraising because we are moving forward with your case & these girls could be yours before the end of the year"! HALLELUJAH! PRAISE GOD! Our prayers have been answered. Tears of joy have been pouring out of our eyes for the past couple of weeks because we are finally drawing closer to having our girls become our FOREVER GIRLS, OFFICIALLY!!
Over the past year & a half, we could not have walked through all that we have walked through without our friends and family supporting us the entire time. Your faithfulness has been overwhelming and I could never thank you enough for ALL you have done for us. BUT we are not done yet! We are at the home stretch and would absolutely love & appreciate your help. Whether it's through prayer or you are able to give financially, we welcome it all because they are both so very needed.
