Bretal & Vega

As you all know, our family and community has been rocked by a tragedy that will live in our minds and hearts forever. Four brave men went on a scalloping trip and only one of those men survived. Xavier Vega, Jerry Bretal and Marc Cormier never made it home. There are no words to describe the pain and agony that the families and loved ones are feeling. This time of year is celebrated with love, cheer, and new memories...but sadly, these families will be suffering and reliving the past holidays in their minds because that is all that they have. Of course, no time is a good time to lose someone you love, but the “Fishing Families” have lost multiple people. These men were trying to work to support their families and those families are now affected by this terrible loss in more than one way...emotionally, physically, spiritually, and economically. We humbly ask that if you are a friend, family member, coworker, or simply someone who has been touched by this tragedy, that you search your heart and help us come together as one big community family...and that you would please make a donation of any amount, in support of their current financial statuses and memorial services.  The proceeds will go to the Vega family, as Mark Cormier’s  family has also created a GoFundMe to honor him. It’s understandable that this time of year is a little harder, considering that the holidays are near, but anything will help. We thank you and we appreciate you. God bless you.
