Katie's Medical Fund

Hi All,

Katie Bell (my sister) has hit some unexpected hard times and we are coming to her friends, family, and community for some assistance. She has experienced an injury that honestly no one knows for sure how it occured. Test results have come back and we now know that there is issues with the spine in the neck area and a torn tendon in the shoulder. Both of these are causing extreme pain and causing a great restriction on mobility of the right arm and neck. As a result of this doctors have ordered that Katie not drive or work, and that order was given almost 2 weeks ago.

Appointments with specialists will be coming up in the near term now that the x-ray and MRI results are back. We do not have definitive answers yet but surgery and even more time without work (no pay) appear imminent, at this point we just don't know for how long.

This time off work is resulting in no income for normal living expenses (rent, food, utilities, etc.), let alone money for the additional medical expenses. Any donation you can give would be greatly appreciated
and very helpful to help Katie and her 13 year old son get through this rough time. Without support from other folks this situation will get much worse, losing
a place to live will happen without the funds for rent.

Short term disability is unfortunately not something Katie's employer offers and there are no other options at this time for other types of disability support. We will not know if there will be until the full scope of the treatment plan is known, but it is unlikley.
