Jackie is a fabulous 50 year old, with a bright outlook, always active, lively and loved very much by her family, including Neil (13) and Lewis (26). She has a heart of gold, and has raised over one million pounds for charities.
Jackie started to have problems with eating back in February, and went to the doctor at the end of March 2020, the pain and being unable to eat got worse over the next 3 months. After several GP appointments on a number of occasions she was told this was acid reflux, given pills and when she returned was given a higher dose.
After many visits and delays, Jackie received an endoscopy on the 9th July and the results of which given to her on the 31st July that she had terminal cancer, the medical term being oesophageal cancer.
It is now the end of August, and the only option left is to have private treatment for combined radio/chemotherapy. This is not being offered by the NHS at all, it is not an option, although it is a lifesaving treatment that is available and could save or definitely prolong Jackie’s life.
We need the funding to be in place, as soon as possible. The treatment will take 2-3 months, and may have to be in London. There is the cost of the treatment, accommodation and living expenses that still need to be covered throughout this time.
These funds will save Jackie’s life, and have her home and cured for Xmas with her partner Colin, her 2 boys, Neil and Lewis, and her lovely cat Fareo. Without this money to pay for the treatment, Jackie may not survive the year and only has access to palliative treatment from the NHS. She will leave her boys without a mother when there is no need to. We need your help, please.
